Deepwater Blowout Intervention Workshop

NOTE: NTL 2002-N08 Adobe PDF is available for download in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF).

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) in cooperation with the Global Petroleum Research Institute (GPRI) and the Offshore Technology Research Center (OTRC) of Texas A&M University, announces an afternoon workshop on Deepwater Well Intervention on August 15, 2002, in Houston Texas. The workshop provides an opportunity to hear from the project managers of the Texas A&M Deepwater Well Intervention Joint Venture.

The project is a GPRI joint venture, funded in part by MMS through OTRC, to develop new guidelines for blowout containment in deepwater drilling/completion/workover operations. The project is intended to develop more relevant procedures and practices for blowout containment than is currently available. MMS believes that this research project will help in understanding what may occur in the event of a deepwater blowout and could provide possible solutions for containing a deepwater blowout. We welcome and encourage your participation in this workshop.
