CIA Diversity Initiatives: Development & Leadership

The CIA is dedicated to building a world-class, high performing, and diverse workforce that allows us to meet the increasing threats and challenges to our nation.

The Office of Diversity Plans and Programs (DPP) has designed and developed programs for all employees to encourage professional development at all levels, such as a cross-directorate group mentoring initiative, a monthly series of “lunch and learn” workshops, and an array of diversity training to enhance skills necessary to manage and function in a diverse workforce. We also have a robust online Diversity Training Portal with a wide variety of courses that enable our officers to build and refresh their diversity skills.

DPP has developed innovative leadership programs to ensure that process changes lead to permanent improvements in a culture of One Agency, One Team.

  • We hold quarterly Leadership Speakers Forums designed to provide Agency leaders with public and private perspectives on the importance of leveraging diversity to achieve business objectives.
  • We engage senior leadership via our Diversity Leadership Working Group to promote strategies that will effectively address and manage Agency-wide diversity challenges.
  • We fully utilize subject matter experts and professional trainers and speakers to ensure that all of our training and development efforts represent the most current best practices available.

We are very proud of our development and leadership programs and invite you to explore some of our ongoing initiatives, including:
