PGRN: Pharmacogenetics Research Network

Program Description

This program is in collaboration with NIGMS, as well as other secondary institutions including NHGRI, NCI, NIEHS, NIMH, and NIAAA. The program was designed to support multidisciplinary, collaborative research groups (Pharmacogenetics Research Network) to study how genetic variation contributes to interindividual differences in drug responses, and in collecting comprehensive, integrative information about specific protein and genes. A database group (Pharmacogenetics Knowledgebase, PharmGKB) has been established ton integrate information obtained from the Network. The NHLBI currently supports four studies under this RFA to investigate the pharmacogenetics of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders.

The NHLBI Program Officer for PGRN is Dina Paltoo, Ph.D., M.P.H.
