PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL - a health institution planned, organized, operated, and maintained to offer facilities, beds, and services over a continuous period exceeding twenty-four (24) hours to individuals requiring early diagnosis and intensive and continued clinical therapy for mental illness and rehabilitation. An integrated therapeutic program shall be provided within the institution. The therapeutic program shall be directed by a person or persons licensed to practice medicine in the State of Colorado, qualified by training and experience in psychiatry, preferably a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and include a team of specialized personnel from the medical, psychological, social, and vocational disciplines who function to restore the individual to his fullest abilities.
Businesses must apply for facility license BEFORE accepting patients. License: $150/yr.
The Division, under the direction of the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), also determines eligibility of the facility for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement certification. Contact HFD for further information is you wish your facility to be eligible.
