What archived data can I use prior to the start of the FNL dataset?
Our "reanalysis" dataset goes back to 1948. There is information about it at
http://www.arl.noaa.gov/ss/transport/archives.html. You can ftp that
data just as for the FNL. You can also choose the reanalysis data from the list of meterorology datasets through
the READY web site at http://www.arl.noaa.gov/ready/hysplit4.html and click
the link for "Run HYSPLIT with archived data."
