At the invitation of the U.S. Departments of Defense and State, Gov. Ritter and two other governors visited National Guard troops, active-duty military personnel and reservists in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait the week of Dec. 10-14. The trip included a tour of the U.S.-protected Green Zone and a state dinner in Baghdad, a visit to Camp Eggers in Afghanistan, and meetings at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.

Gov. Ritter accepts a $13.6 million check from Dr. Terry Cline (right) of the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration on Nov. 28. The money will help fund the Colorado Access to Recovery Program for the next three years and aid an additional 6,000 Coloradans.

In Nov. 2007, Gov. Ritter releases Colorado's first Climate Action Plan at Coors Field, outlining firm goals and clear strategies to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and providing simple suggestions for all Coloradans to address global warming.
Gov. Ritter announces a series of government efficiency measures Oct. 15 on the West Steps of the state Capitol. The measures will help the state save and collect about $145 million over five years.

On Oct. 9, Gov. Ritter, Lt. Gov. O'Brien and Mayor Hickenlooper visited the set of the new Eddie Murphy movie, "Nowhereland," being filmed in Denver in October.
