GOV. RITTER APPOINTS NEW MEMBERS TO COLORADO TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY BOARD

Gov. Bill Ritter today announced the appointments of four new members to the Colorado Traumatic Brain Injury Board. The 13-member board awards grants from the Colorado Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund, designating funds into different programmatic areas such as traumatic brain injury education, research and services for people with traumatic brain injuries.

The appointees announced today:

Holly Ann Batal of Denver, a physician and associate director in the Department of General Internal Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center and a relative of someone with a brain injury.

Kimberly A. Gorgens of Denver, a clinical assistant professor at the University of Denver's Graduate School of Professional Psychology.

Diane M. Gutierrez of Alamosa, the program director at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center.

Christina G. Hoagland of Grand Junction, a rehabilitation occupational therapist at Interim Healthcare and Community Hospital who also has a brain injury.

Terms are for three years and Senate confirmation is required.
