Bureau of Land Management Offers Reward for Wildland Fire Information

Salt Lake City, Utah—September 11, 2008—The Bureau of Land Management is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to apprehension and conviction of the party responsible for starting the Lonesome Pine fire.

The fire started on BLM land 3.5 miles north of Eureka, Utah, on August 24 and burned 560 acres before being controlled on September 2.  The total suppression cost for this fire was nearly $200,000.

Law enforcement officials are hoping that someone will come forward with information about who started the fire.  Anyone with information should contact BLM Special Agent Brent Range at 801-550-9863 or e-mail Brent_Range@blm.gov.
