This true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from May 20, 2001, shows Peary Land in northern Greenland.the northernmost point (of land) on the Earth. The rugged mountainous coastline gives way to the vast ice and snow fields of the island.s interior. The coastlines will become uncovered briefly over the course of the summer.
