The VA Benefits at Discharge (BDD) Program is a joint initiative of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DOD).

In an ongoing effort to improve services, VA and the DOD have implemented this program to help transitional military personnel receive VA disability benefits prior to separation from active military service.

This program enables VA representatives to process disability claims and review proposed disability ratings with military personnel prior to their separation or retirement from active duty.
