HOSPICE: means a centrally administered program of palliative, supportive and inter-disciplinary team services providing physical, psychological, spiritual and sociological care for terminally ill individuals and their families within a continuum of in-patient care, home care, and follow-up bereavement services available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Day care services may also be included.
Must apply for license BEFORE accepting patients. License: $150 yearly
Health Facilities Division (HFD), under the direction of the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), determines eligibility of the facility for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement certification. Contact HFD for further information is you wish your facility to be eligible.
