The 2008 Oregon Driver Excellence Scholarship Challenge seeks to prevent teen driving crashes and recognize outstanding teen drivers through an innovative scholarship competition.
Eligible students will compete for scholarships valued between $500 and $2,000.
This year the Oregon Driver Excellence Scholarship Challenge is being held at
Linn-Benton Community College on Saturday October 18, 2008 and
Redmond High School on Sunday October 19, 2008.
The challenge includes four parts:
Written test – similar to Oregon driver license knowledge test
Perception test – a multi-media assessment asking students to determine best practices
Skill test – examines students’ driving ability including backing, parallel parking and steering through obstacles
The Transportation Safety Division Driver Education Program is now updating instructor records. We are asking all active driver education instructors to please help us by taking a few moments to fill out and submit this survey.

"Audits" means the Division's audits of approved providers performed on-site to review student, curriculum, and instructor records to ensure that the providers are in compliance with OAR 737-015-0010 through 737-015-0110. An audit may include observation of the instructor during behind-the-wheel and classroom instruction.
*Effective July 1, 2008, all applicants for a driver license, driver permit or identification card will be required to meet new identity requirements.
