Pipe Designer

Pipe Designer logo.

Designed to eliminate the tedium of conventional piping design techniques, increase accuracy of calculations, and ultimately save time:

  • Perform detailed calculations for a new piping network to determine required pipe sizes, the critical path in the system for pump sizing, valve pressure drops, and the effects of elevation change.
  • Design systems using three different pipe materials: steel, copper, and PVC. Generate a complete bill of material and accurately estimate system material and/or installed costs if unit prices are known.
  • Examine open and closed systems using virtually any fluid with known viscosity and specific gravity. Enter coil flow rates and pressure drops along with pipe lengths -- the program will identify the critical path in your network, and total gallons of fluid required.
  • Accurately model existing systems by simply specifying pipe sizes for each leg in the system. You can also analyze hybrid systems consisting of new and existing piping and reverse-return layouts!
The familiar, intuitive Windows user interface will save you time and effort in performing these tedious calculations. Using methodologies defined in the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals, you can be confident in the results this tool provides. Once the design is complete, you can generate detailed reports that can be used to determine pump sizes, bills of material, and system cost.
