| Crash Analysis & Reporting |

The Crash Analysis & Reporting Unit provides motor vehicle crash data through database creation, maintenance and quality assurance, information and reports, and limited database access. Ten years of crash data is maintained at all times. Vehicle crashes include those coded for city streets, county roads and state highways.
Legally reportable crashes are those involving death, bodily injury or damage to any one persons property in excess of:
- $ 500 - up to and including 8/31/1997
- $1,000 - after 8/31/1997, up to and including 12/31/2003
As of 01/01/2004, ONLY drivers are required to file a report. Drivers must file an Accident and Insurance Report Form with DMV within 72 hours if they are involved in a crash resulting in any of the following:
- Death
- Bodily injury
- Damage to the vehicle you were driving is over $1,500
- Damage to any vehicle is over $1,500 and any vehicle is towed from the scene as a result of damage from the accident
- Damage to any one person’s property other than a vehicle involved in the accident is over $1,500.
