What is the Energy Science and Technology Database? The Energy Science and Technology Database (EDB) is a multidisciplinary file containing worldwide references to basic and applied scientific and technical research literature. The information is collected for use by government managers, researchers at the national laboratories, and other research efforts sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, and the results of this research are transferred to the public.

Included in EDB are scientific and technical reports of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration and its contractors, other agencies, universities, and industrial and research organizations.

Coverage (1976 to Present): The entire database contains 4,600,000 records. 900,000 of these are from the Nuclear Science Abstracts collection (updated every two weeks).

Who Should Access the Energy Science and Technology Database and Why? Anyone needing access to the world's most comprehensive source of worldwide energy related information. Use this database to:

  • Obtain results of the latest energy research efforts.
  • Access subject specific information on energy sources, use, and conservation; environmental effects; waste processing and disposal; and regulatory consideration, as well as basic scientific studies.
