Department Correspondence
General Files, part of Business Services Section, is located in the basement of the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St NE, Room 5, Salem, Oregon, 97302.
Correspondence to and from the office of the Transportation Director is retained in General Files. This correspondence is public record and must be maintained and made accessible to the public. Correspondence related to construction projects, agreements and general correspondence maintained in General Files is indexed and kept in hard copy for seven years. Earlier correspondence is microfilmed as specified in file retention schedules. General Files provides document research assistance to other departments and agencies and partners with the ODOT Library to provide the most comprehensive resources available. Commission minutes from 1913 to present are also available on microfilm and in hard copy.

Agreements and Resolutions
General Files is the repository for agreements between ODOT and other agencies. We have access to Forest Road agreements, more than 22,000 miscellaneous agreements, 1,500 railroad agreements, and resolutions passed by the Oregon State Highway Commission and the Oregon Transportation Commission.
