BACKGROUND: | FAS periodically publishes notices suspending activities and restricting FMD/MAP expenditures in foreign countries based on economic sanctions. This notice is being revised to add Sudan to the list of restricted countries. |
POLICY: | Following is an updated
listing of the restricted countries: Cuba Iran Iraq Libya North Korea Sudan The appearance of a country on this restricted
list requires that no activities, funded under the
Cooperator Program or the Market Access Program (MAP),
may be conducted in that country. Cooperator/participant
activities, funded under the Cooperator Program or the
MAP, must cease for those countries appearing on the
restricted list. Expenditure data should not appear on
any FAS financial reports for these restricted countries.
Additionally, expenditures on
cooperator/participant-funded activities in restricted
countries may not be counted as contributions to the
Cooperator Program or the MAP. Similarly, National
Checkoff monies cannot be used to fund travel or other
Cooperator or MAP activities in these countries. |
