Use of
Discounted Airline Tickets All MAP Participants and FMD Cooperators |
1400
Independence Ave., SW Stop 1042 Washington. DC 20250-1042 |
BACKGROUND: | Many MAP participants and Cooperators have asked if airline tickets purchased from bulk ticket sellers or ticket consolidators are reimbursable. Because the price paid for such a ticket often differs from the price printed on the passenger receipt, CCC has reimbursed only up to the price shown on the passenger receipt (not to exceed the full-fare economy rate.) Unfortunately, this has discouraged MAP participants and Cooperators from using discounted tickets, which are often less expensive than tickets purchased from more traditional sellers. |
ACTION: | In an effort to reduce program costs,
CCC will now reimburse the costs of discounted airline
tickets, up to the full-fare economy rate, with proper
proof of payment and documentation of the full fare
economy rate for each flight. Proper proof of payment,
for the purposes of this notice, includes a credit card
bill showing the charge for the ticket or a signed
receipt, showing the actual amount paid, from the travel
agent that issued the ticket. Questions may be directed to the Marketing Operations Staff on (202) 720-4327. |
