The Marketing Operations Staff has received several inquiries from marketing specialists on how participants and cooperators should report FMD and MAP activity information for Hong Kong, China and the Democratic Republic of Congo, formerly Zaire. Please adhere to the following: | |
| China and Hong Kong | Until otherwise directed, continue to report marketing activities for China and Hong Kong separately. | |
| Democratic Republic of Congo | Although Zaire has been officially recognized as the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Census Bureau has not issued any formal guidance on this issue. Therefore, until further notice continue to use the FIPS code CG and the country name Zaire. | |
