GOV. RITTER ORDERS FLAGS LOWERED TO COMMEMMORATE SEPT. 11

Pursuant to a Presidential request, Gov. Bill Ritter has ordered that both the United States and Colorado state flags be lowered to half-staff on all state buildings throughout Colorado on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, to honor those who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks seven years ago.

In remembrance of those who lost their lives that day, the United States Congress passed Public Law 107-89 on Dec. 18, 2001, designating Sept. 11 as "Patriot Day." It has become customary for the President to order the flags to half-staff on this day each year.
