The Oregon Employment Department is charged with: The administration of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Trust Fund, including the collection of UI taxes and payment of UI benefits; job seeker services both online and in-person; Compiling quality labor market information; and, Child care provider licensing. The Legislative and Rules section of the Employment Department works in tandem with the other divisions of the agency to ensure our customers receive the best service possible. The Legislative section is the primary touch point for legislators seeking information regarding the Employment Department. The Rules section administers the agency rulemaking process.
