These updated, evidence-based clinical guidelines will provide important new information for clinicians in the identification, evaluation, and treatment of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. This report includes a revised definition of preeclampsia/eclampsia, changes in the classification of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and an expanded discussion of prevention and treatment. Other new topics include postpartum counseling and research recommendations. NIH Publication No. 00-3029, 38 pages.
