On July 26, 1965, Commissioner Bob Ball called a meeting at SSA Headquarters in Baltimore to announce a reorganization of SSA. This was a massive restructing of the Agency, and would shape SSA for many years to come. Ball spoke for an hour-and-a-quarter and went into considerable detail as to the changes and their underlying rationale.
