Audubon County Cafe Stop

I visited the Uptown Cafe in Audubon on Friday and was greeted by the owner Pat Jensen. I spent my time there chatting with several long-time friends, including Robert Nelson, about all of the people I remember from the area and what they are doing now. Larry Greufe from the Audubon County News was there to listen in and I was also able to talk about some potential casework with a woman, who came to ask for help with some difficulties she is facing.

Phyllis Jensen was there and spoke about the direction that our country is taking. We discussed everything from the importance of Habeas Corpus to the Clean Water Act, campaign finance reform, and the Georgian-Russian conflict.

I also had the pleasure of re-uniting with my good friend Louis Lauritsen.  We shared many old stories and memories, including spending time hunting pheasants alongside Louis’s great hunting dogs.

Overall, it was a great visit. These cafe stops allow me to get in touch with people from all over our state and listen to their concerns, and sometimes help them with specific problems they are having with federal agencies.  They also give me a chance to re-connect with great friends.
