Growth-Inhibitory Substances in Pneumococcus Cultures
Description:
This article is an outgrowth of Avery and Morgan's research on bacterial nutrition. It reported on certain autoinhibiting aspects of the growth of pneumococci and streptococci which were usually the result of either the natural accumulation of acid products or peroxide in the medium, or through the exhaustion of the nutritive substance.
