Investigative Reports Section
The Investigative Reports Section of the Criminal Investigation Division

The Investigative Reports Section maintains all criminal investigative reports for the Department of State Police and data from these reports is entered into the Department’s centralized computer system (LEmis).  The Investigative Reports Section staff is dedicated to ensuring accurate entry of criminal incidents as quality control is critical in the data collection process.  The data collected in LEmis generates the Oregon State Police’s Oregon Uniform Crime Reporting statistics which through the Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) Section of the State Police are reported to the FBI and result in the Oregon ’s contribution to the National Crime statistics.  The submission of statistical information to LEDS is in compliance with state statute.  This Section is also responsible for complying with Court Orders involving the sealing and expunging of police records.  Section staff determines release of criminal investigative records in accordance with state and federal public records statutes.
