About the Small Business and Supplier Management Office

It is the policy of the Berkeley Lab to support and foster the Small Business Program policies of the US Department of Energy. An inherent part of this mandate is the realization that economic, political, and demographic changes in our community demand and underscore the importance of expanding access to, and participation in, contractual opportunities for Small, HUBZone, Service-disabled/Veteran-owned, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a) and Women-owned Businesses.

Generally speaking, the Laboratory accepts self-certification for business size. Small Disadvantaged, 8(a) and HUBZone business enterprises must, however, comply with certification requirements, and criteria and size standards for these businesses as determined by the US Small Business Administration and as specifically defined in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). For information on whether you fall into one or more of the above categories, you can receive clarification from the Small Business Administration.

If you are interested in doing business with the Laboratory, please complete our Laboratory's Supplier Evaluation and Registration Form for consideration. Fax or e-mail the completed form to the Small Business Representative listed in the Contact Information section of this website.
