The Cochrane Library

Update Software has been associated with The Cochrane Library since the beginning, and we are proud of our role in the creation and development of the Library and the Cochrane Collaboration's content management systems. This role was described as "an outstanding contribution to the Cochrane Collaboration" in a recent issue of their newsletter

This article documents the evolution of The Cochrane Library and its predecessors and shows how the revolutionary structure of those first publications remains important today (also available as a PDF document )

The final issue of Update Software's CD-ROM version of The Cochrane Library was published in July 2005. Wiley and Sons, who took over publication of the Internet version of The Cochrane Library at the beginning of 2005, is now also responsible for the CD version.

Update Software continues to develop innovative ways of delivering information, and will continue to publish the Spanish title La Biblioteca Cochrane Plus en español, as well as The WHO Reproductive Health Library, The Renal Health Library and other specialist publications designed to help get evidence into practice.
