The Environmental Toxicology Training Program is based in the Graduate Center for Toxicology, which grants the Ph.D. in Toxicology. The training program provides students with an education in toxicology which is based on an understanding of biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology and molecular/cell biology, coupled with an in-depth research experience on the mechanisms by which specific agents induce toxicity, and/or the cellular processes upon which agents impact to cause toxicity.

The areas of focus are:

  • Molecular mechanisms of toxicity related to polyhalogenated hydrocarbons, DNA repair, oxidative stress and toxic injury and biotransformation and transport of toxicants
  • Neurotoxicology
  • Immunotoxicology
