Rental Housing

There are 70 nonprofit houses in King County for adults who receive residential services through State DDD. Each house provides affordable housing for 3 to 4 individuals with developmental disabilities. Tenants receive support in their homes through DDD contracted residential service providers. To be eligible to live in these homes you must receive residential services through State DDD. Contact your State DDD case manager to find out about your eligibility for this type of housing.

For adults who do not receive residential services through State DDD, and for families with a child with a disability, there are affordable, multifamily units available. Some of these units include a Section 8 Subsidy where an extra room can be approved for a live-in care provider as a “reasonable accommodation” for the person with disabilities. To find out more about this type of affordable housing, contact your State DDD case manager.
