Louise Solliday, Commission Chair
Louise Solliday is the Director of the Oregon Department of State Lands.  By state statute, the Director serves as the permanent chair of the Management Commission.  The Commission serves as the Reserve's immediate governing body and establishes operating policies and administrative rules for the Reserve.  As per state statute, the following eight members of the Commission are appointed by the Governor and serve as representatives of specific institutions, agencies, and other constituencies.  The Management Commission reviews Reserve activities and proposed initiatives at  meetings that are held three times a year and are open to the public.

Dr. Young is the Director of the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology.  He represents the University of Oregon on the Management Commission.

Dr. Boehlert is the Director of the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon.  He represents Oregon State University on the Management Commission. 

Coos County Commission
A member of the Coos County Board of Commissioners represents Coos County on the South Slough NERR Managment Commission.  This position is currently vacant.

Mr. Fereday is an educator who teaches science to middle school students in the Coos Bay school district.  He represents K - 12 education on the Management Commission.

General Public

Richard Hamel is a retired aero-space engineer who is active in many volunteer organizations.  He represents the general public on the Management Commission and serves as its Vice-Chair.

Dr. Robert L. Emmett
Dr. Robert Emmett is employed by the National Marine Fisheries Service in Newport, Oregon.  He represents the Office of Ocean and Coastal Resources Management on the Commission and serves as its only non-voting member.

Ronald E. Stuntzner, P. E.
Mr. Stuntzner is a professional engineer and local business owner.  He owns and operates Stuntzner Engineering and Forestry in Coos County, Oregon.  He represents the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay on the South Slough NERR Management Commission.

Mark Ingersoll represents the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians on the South Slough NERR Management Commission.
