Mark Fallon Selected as Assistant Director for Training at The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center

Glynco, GA February 06, 2008

Connie L. Patrick, Director, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), is pleased to announce the selection of Mark Fallon as the FLETC’s Assistant Director for Training. Fallon, whose appointment began on February 3, 2008, has oversight for providing leadership and direction to ten training divisions at the headquarters facility in Glynco, Georgia.

"Mark is highly respected at FLETC and throughout the Federal Government for his outstanding leadership skills and dedication to public service," said FLETC Director Patrick. “His extensive experience in law enforcement will add a new dimension to training.”

Prior to joining the FLETC Executive Team, Fallon spent more than 25 years as a Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) special agent. Fallon’s assignments with NCIS included the Director of the NCIS Training Academy; Deputy Assistant Director for Training; Deputy Assistant Director for Counterterrorism; Deputy Commander and Special Agent in Charge of the Department of Defense (DOD) Criminal Investigation Task Force; Chief of Counterintelligence Operations, Europe, Africa, Middle East Division; Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the NCIS Europe Field Office; Resident Agent in Charge of NCIS Philadelphia Resident Agency; Special Agent in Charge of the NCIS Kings Bay Resident Agency, and Special Operations Squad Leader of the NCIS Washington, DC Field Office. His first sworn federal law enforcement job was with the US Marshals Service in Newark, NJ, in February 1979.

The New Jersey native has been awarded the Armed Service Civilian Service Medal, the US Army Distinguished Civilian Service Medal, the US Secret Service Director’s Honor Award, the DOD Special Award for Counterintelligence, the Department of the Navy Civilian Service Medal, the DOD Award for the Most Outstanding Action/Innovation, the NCIS Special Operations Commendation and the Fraternal Order of Police Award of Merit. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the Administration of Justice from Roger Williams College in Bristol, Rhode Island.

The FLETC trains the majority of Federal officers and agents. In addition to providing training to more than 80 Federal partner organizations, FLETC also provides training to state, local, tribal, and international police in selected advanced programs; graduates over 60,000 students annually; and is the largest law enforcement training organization in the country.

Headquartered on a 1600-acre campus at Glynco, near Brunswick, Georgia, the FLETC also operates facilities in Artesia, New Mexico; Charleston, South Carolina; and Cheltenham, Maryland. The FLETC also has oversight responsibility on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security for the International Law Enforcement Academies at Gabarone, Botswana; and San Salvador, El Salvador.
