The Office of Leadership and Professional Development, CG-133

Vision:  The Office of Leadership and Professional Development will be recognized and valued for providing continuous improvement of the Coast Guard's leadership and professional development program.  

Mission: The Office of Leadership and Professional Development (CG-133) is the leadership policy and doctrine development office within Coast Guard Headquarters.  Under the direction of the Assistant Commandant for Human Resources and the supervision of the Director of Reserve and Training, CG-133 provides guidance and direction to commanding officers (this term is used broadly to encompass unit commanders, officers-in-charge, and flotilla commanders) regarding leadership and professional development.  

CG-133 is the program manager for a comprehensive Coast Guard wide system of leadership and professional development activities (Core Values, Leadership Competencies, Leadership Framework, Unit Leadership Development Program, E-Mentoring and Individual Development Plans) in addition to unique continuums of leadership and professional development activities designed specifically for each workforce (enlisted, officer, civilian, auxiliary).  This includes all resident and non-resident leadership education and professional development training.  

Values: The values of the Leadership and Professional Development program are the Coast Guard's Core Values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty.  

Strategic Goal: The Leadership and Professional Development program will identify and provide the right leadership development capabilities, at the right time, in the right place, and at the right cost to achieve the Coast Guard's Mission , Vision, and Strategic Goals.
