A PERFOMANCE-BASED, LEARNER-CENTERED Training and Development Program
The Branch of Conservation Science and Policy Training has the lead role for the Service's programs in a broad range of science and policy oriented curricula covering endangered species, environmental contaminants, aquatic ecology, statistical methodology, fisheries resources, conservation biology, decision analysis, adaptive management, wildlife ecology and other science based training and training support. The Branch also defines and develops strategies and processes for organizational learning and development in support of the Service's science mission and goals.
We focus on the following:
- Science Theory, Methods and Techniques, and Applications
- Conservation and Environmental Science Policies and Regulatory Authorities
- Sound Science and Informed, Structured Decision Making
Our Mission
To identify, develop and provide training, tools and services that enhance the capability of employees in science and policy application in order to achieve the Mission of the Fish and Wildlife Service.
Our Goal
To provide conservation professionals with the skills and tools to perform their jobs more effectively. Whether you require Section 7 (ESA) consultation skills or habitat measurement techniques, concepts in Conservation Biology or wetland Plant identification, critical writing or structured decision making, we are here to help equip you with the skills demanded by high performance natural resource conservation and management.
