The MWR program at Training Center Yorktown strives to provide all three. The MWR administration/ticket office is located in the Gym/Pool complex . Here you can find information to local attractions and purchase tickets. Morale ticket give-away programs to local attractions or sporting events will be offered to assigned permanent party personnel (i.e. Coast Guard Military members, General Service and NAFA employees, Coast Guard and International Students). Assigned permanent party personnel can also sign up for upcoming intramural sports. Information for local race events is available as well. For general information you may call (757) 856-2009. TCYorktown also has Guest Quarters available if you anticipate coming for a visit.

Barber Shop

The Barber Shop is located in Korean Hall (exchange complex) and provides a basic level of hair care for men, women and children of every ethnic background. Customers are taken on a first come first serve basis. Personal checks are not accepted.

Gymnasium

The Gymnasium complex includes a multi-purpose basketball court, a cardiovascular room equipped with treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines, steppers and rowers, an aerobics room, two weight rooms: one with free weights and Hammer Strength machines and one with Cybex and Nautilus selectorized weight machines, two racquetball courts, saunas and indoor pool. We have spacious locker rooms and shower facilities. Located adjacent to the gym is a multi-purpose softball/athletic field, sand volleyball court, outdoor basketball court, horseshoe pits and tennis courts. (757) 856-2128

Sports

We have seasonal intramural leagues going on throughout the year and occasional tournaments in various sports. For additional information contact Sports Specialist @ (757) 856-2132.

Ticket Sales

Tickets can be purchased at the MWR administration/ticket sales window located in the Gym. Discount tickets are available for Busch Gardens, Water Country, Jamestown/Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Kings Dominion. Hours of Operation: Mon - Fri: 1000-1330/1400-1600. The office is closed for lunch from 1330-1400. For additional information contact (757) 856-2130.

Auto Hobby Shop/Outdoor Recreation

A 6 bay garage is available for rent to work on your car, three with lifts. Additionally, there are two auto detailing bays with a commercial vacuum for cleaning your car. There is also a wash bay available. Tool box with tools are provided. A full line of outdoor recreation equipment is available for rent at the Outdoor Recreation Office – located in the Auto Hobby Shop. Check the link below for a complete listing of rentals. Some items include three pop-up camping trailers, tents, camping gear, bicycles, canoes, kayaks, fishing gear, and golf clubs. Free bike rentals for TCY personnel during weekday, lunch hours 1030-1300.

Fishing Pier

The pier, which extends one-half mile into the York River is available for fishing. If you want to use the pier you'll need to buy a pier pass, which can be purchased at the Hobby Shop. Daily or yearly passes are available. Daily passes are $4.00 per person; yearly passes are $25.00 per person and are good the calendar year.(January through December). TCYorktown students fish free but must get a daily pass from the Hobby Shop. The pier is open from sunrise to sundown.

Cyber Café

Twenty-three desktop computers are available for high-speed gaming, email, word processing or just surfing the Internet. Time codes can be bought from a vending machine for $5 (85 minutes), $10 (185 minutes) and $20 (400 minutes). Laser printer is available (one minute of computer time is deducted for each page printed).

Wired and wireless Internet service is also available for students bringing their own laptop. Laptop time can be bought online with a credit card for $3.60 per hour or partial hour; $6 for all day, $20 for all week or $49 for all month.

Movie Theatre

Movies are shown on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Theatre opens at 1800 and movie starts 1830. Free admission. Download this month's movie schedule.

Port of York

Come down to the scenic Port of York for your dining pleasure. The club is open to all E-6 and above and guests. Seating available for 120 people. We serve a daily breakfast for $4.00, and also a lunch for $7.00 on-base personnel or $7.50 off-base personnel.. The Port of york has fully stocked lounge with food service available Mon-Fri,1700-1930. Closed Sundays’ prior to Federal, Monday Holidays. For more information contact (757) 856- 2286.
