Dismantler Certificate
A Dismantler Certificate authorizes an individual to:
  • Carry on or conduct the business of buying, selling or dealing in vehicles for the purpose of wrecking, dismantling, disassembling, and offering for sale the used vehicle components
  • Carry on or conduct the business of buying, selling or dealing in vehicles for the purpose of wrecking, dismantling, disassembling or substantially altering the form of any motor vehicle
  • Carry on or conduct the business of selling at wholesale wrecked, dismantled, disassembled or substantially altered vehicles or
  • Engage in the activity of wrecking, dismantling, disassembling or substantially altering vehicles including the crushing, compacting or shredding of vehicles
Vehicles include, but are not limited to cars, trucks, motorhomes, motorcycles, etc.

How to Qualify/Apply
  1. Complete an Application for Business Certificate as a Dismantler of Motor Vehicles or Salvage Pool Operator form (Form 373).
  2. Pay a $450 application fee.
  3. City/county local government approval of business location and ownership information must be included on your application.
  4. $10,000 bond must be completed on our form and approved by the Attorney General's office.
  5. Attach a plat map or hand drawn map of the business location.

Duration
A Dismantler Certificate is valid for 3 years from date of issuance.

Renewals
Requirements are the same for both originals and renewals.
