World Association of Newspapers, a Paris-based organization that represents about 18,000 newspapers and 77 newspaper associations around the world, is the latest to argue against it.

HP to Scrub 24,600 Jobs as It Engulfs EDS
Silicon Valley computing giant HP has announced it will cut 24,600 jobs, or about 7.5 percent of its global workforce, over the next three years. Nearly half of those cuts will take place in the U.S. The move is part of HP's integration of Plano, Texas-based Electronic Data Systems, which HP acquired for $13.9 billion earlier this year.

IMDb Adds Some Show to Its Tell
A site known for its information on entertainment is now offering up thousands of movies and TV shows for free streaming. The Internet Movie Database, or IMDb, launched a massive streaming service this week. The Amazon-owned operation has 6,000 full-length programs already available with plans for more titles in the future.

Citrix Attains a Higher Level of Xen
Citrix rolled out the fifth edition of its XenServer virtualization software Monday. The platform features more than 130 new features focused on ease of use, performance and security. Among the improvements to this latest iteration of XenServer are storage virtualization and integration with Windows Server 2008 from Microsoft.
