The Oregon Department of Energy received $1 million for funding energy efficiency measures in Oregon K-12 public schools served by municipal utilities, people utility districts (PUDs) and electric cooperatives that are not eligible for the SB1149 Schools Public Purpose Funds Program.
The funds are part of the Williams Oil settlement that was the result of a coordinated investigation into allegations of price manipulation and antitrust violations in the Western power market during the energy crisis of 2000-01 by the attorneys general of Oregon, California and Washington.
Qualifying projects include lighting, HVAC and others. Case studies of energy projects that received Williams Settlement Funding are linked in the right-hand column.
