Cartoon characters from The Space Place, NASA's award-winning Web site for kids, present their own talk show from the Space Place Clubhouse. In this episode, their guest is the well-known Caltech scientist of black holes and time warps fame, Dr. Kip Thorne. The goal of "Space Place Live!" is to introduce kids to the human, down-to-Earth side of real scientists and engineers working in the space program. Each guest is presented as a passionate and accomplished role model for every child interested in science or engineering. Kids will find out to what unlikely profession Dr. Thorne aspired in his early childhood and which teacher had the greatest influence on turning him into a scientist and a teacher.

This program was first broadcast on NASA TV Education File Schedule November 5, 2003.
