NORTON GOAL FOR MORE FEDERAL LAND FOR D.C. COMING TO FRUITION

Washington, DC—The Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today said Norton welcomes Administration support for the transfer of federal land to the District of Columbia, including Reservation 13 and other properties D.C. has long sought.  Norton’s staff has been studying the White House bill for the last several days.  The Congresswoman herself introduced a bill in May to accomplish transfer of the same properties.  She said she would be working closely with Government Reform Committee Chairman Tom Davis and other committees of jurisdiction for quick passage.
