 Download PDF Download  Master Chief William J. Dikun Master Chief Petty Officer William J. Dikun comes to Atlantic Area from the First Coast Guard District where he served as the Reserve Command Master Chief since July 2002. His primary responsibility was to advise Commander, First Coast Guard District on issues and initiatives pertaining to Reserve Coast Guard members and their families. In his previous assignment, Master Chief Dikun was the Coast Guard liaison to the U.S. Air Force 421st Ground Combat Readiness Squadron at Fort Dix, NJ. The Squadron trains Coast Guard personnel via the Phoenix Readiness/Raven courses of instruction.

A native of Point Pleasant, NJ, MCPO Dikun entered the Coast Guard Reserve in October, 1986. His first assignments were to Stations Barnegat Light and Beach Haven, NJ. In January 1991 he was called to active duty and served with PSU 303 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. During this deployment he served as a Coxswain, Engineer and Crewman aboard the 22’ TPSB. In 1994, MCPO Dikun requested assignment to Port Security Unit 305, Fort Eustis, VA. He remained assigned to the PSU as a Squad Leader in the Unit Security Division, with a myriad of collateral duties, until December 1999. MCPO Dikun later completed two tours of active duty with PSU 305, in New York, NY (2001) and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (2002) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2005, he deployed to Iraq and Kuwait with USCG RAID Team IV in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Master Chief Dikun is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Reserve Class IV and Class 01-B of the United States Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy in Montgomery, Alabama and Class 105 of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, RI. 

MCPO Dikun is the Chief Police Instructor at the Ocean County (NJ) Police Academy and is a 1997 graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. He holds a Master of Administrative Science Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University (NJ), a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rowan University (NJ) and several Associates of Arts Degrees from Ocean County (NJ) Community College. Master Chief Dikun is active in his community and is a member of various civic organizations.

His military awards include: CG Commendation Medal with "O" device, CG Achievement Medal with "O" Device, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, GWOT Expeditionary and Service Medals, four CG Meritorious Unit Commendations with “O” devices, six CG Reserve Good Conduct Awards, two National Defense Service Medals, two CG Special Operations Service Ribbons and the CG Expert Rifle and Pistol Medals.
