These firms should be allowed to fail if that is what they deserve to do. Only then will corporations realize that they are answerable to their stockholders for more than what profits they post on the books on a quarterly basis. And only then will there be enough of an outcry to get our government and the financial sector itself to scrutinize and correct the practices that caused this and provide true oversight to prevent similar meltdowns in other industries in the future.
