Physician Referral Mechanism

Physicians can refer patients to the Suburban Hospital/NHLBI cardiovascular MRI center by submitting a form by fax to 301-896-7521 and can contact Marsha Block at (301) 896-4009 or (301)496-3658, or Tracy Lowrey at (301) 896-4008.

Physicians can refer patients to the cardiovascular MRI facility at the National Institutes of Health by contacting Marsha Block at (301) 896-4009 or (301)496-3658.

MRI scans and necessary additional testing is provided at no cost to the patient in either hospital as long as the patient meets eligibility criteria for NIH sponsored research protocols.  There are a wide range of protocols available so most patients can be expected to be eligible for cardiovascular MRI as long as there are no contraindications to MRI.
