Download the Database
The entire State and County QuickFacts dataset, with U.S., state, and county data is available for download. Downloadable data files for cities may be issued later.
The current downloadable data set may include items not displayed on QuickFacts tables.
Please note that the data file format has changed. Data flags are now in a separate file.
- DataSet.txt -- 3196 rows, one for the U.S., one for each state, one for each county, but no column headings. Each row is identified by a 5-digit combined state and county code. Data are comma-delimited.
- DataDict.txt -- One row for each column in DataSet.txt. Flat ASCII files have mnemonic identifier, full title, number of decimals, and the U.S. total value (matching the first row of DataDict.txt)
- FIPS_CountyName.txt -- FIPS and corresponding place names.
Flags -- Some data items are represented by a flag.
- DataFlags.txt -- 3196 rows, one for the U.S., one for each state, one for each county, but no column headings. Each row is identified by a 5-digit combined state and county code. Data are comma-delimited. Column headings follow those in the Data Dictionary file DataDict.txt.
- FlagsDict.txt -- Flag codes and corresponding meaning.
Footnotes -- Those footnotes that appear for all geographic areas are not shown here. Footnotes that are applicable only to selected areas are provided in two files:
-
FootNotes.txt -- Footnotes are identified by mnemonic (shown in DataDict), the county to which they apply (identified by code), and the footnote key (a link into FootText.txt). There is one row for each instance of each footnote in this flat ASCII file.
- FootText.txt -- Footnote key and its text
