Drought Impact Awareness Growing: Weather Forecast Offices, Geographers Highlight Issue The 122 Weather Forecast Offices of the National Weather Service in June began producing Drought Information Statements, including impacts, any time part of their forecast areas were in severe drought or worse, as determined by the U.S. Drought Monitor. The American Association of Geographers is calling for papers for a drought impacts session at its March meeting. The deadline is October 15. |
