These data tables display data provided by County Welfare Departments, Welfare, Probation, and other agencies concerning caseloads, costs, and services related to child welfare programs. As additional and/or revised data become available, they are updated and new versions are issued.

AD 56 A - Agency Adoption Program Quarterly Statistical Report
This quarterly report includes statistical data on domestic adoption activities, including data on children under study, children freed but not placed, adoptive placements, adoptions finalized, cooperative placements, and families approved to adopt.

Note: Beginning with the July-September 2001 report quarter, licensed counties and state adoption district office data for this report was drawn from the Child Welfare System/Case Management Services system (CWS/CMS). Private adoption agency data is compiled from reports submitted by individual agencies.

AD 56 D - Independent Adoption Program and Adoption Set Asides Quarterly Statistical Report
This quarterly report includes statistical data on new independent adoption petitions received and adoption investigations approved, dismissed and denied during the quarter. It also includes data on new Set-Aside adoption petitions received, and Set-Aside investigations recommended and not recommended.

CA 237 FC - Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) Foster Care (FC) Caseload Movement and Expenditures Report
This monthly report includes data on applications received and actions taken on applications; foster care caseload and movement; net expenditures by category of placement; and a breakdown of federal/nonfederal participants (children and families) and expenditures by category of placement. June 2001 was the last report published on the Internet. For foster care caseload information for July 2001 and subsequent months, see the CWS/CMS 1 and the CWS/CMS 2.

CA 237 KG - Kinship Guardianship Assistance Payment Program (Kin-GAP) Caseload Movement Report
This monthly report includes data on end of the report month net movement of cases and the number of individuals who received Kin-GAP; a subsidy for children who leave the juvenile court dependency system to live with a relative legal guardian.

CWS/CMS1 - Child Welfare Services/Case Management System - Foster Care Children by Placement
This monthly report provides the total number of children in out-of-home placements. The reports below represent placements made by Child Welfare (CWS/CMS1a), Probation (CWS/CMS1b), and Other Agencies (CWS/CMS1c). The results of the report are drawn from an extract that is created on the last day of each month from the Child Welfare Services/Case Management System. The report includes information by placement in-county, out-of-county, and out-of-state.

CWS/CMS1a - Child Welfare Services/Case Management System - Welfare Supervised Foster Care Children by Placement
This monthly report provides the total number of children in out-of-home placements supervised by child welfare services. The results of this report are drawn from an extract that is created the last day each month from the Child Welfare Services/Case Management System. The report includes information by placement in-county, out-of-county, and out-of-state.

CWS/CMS1b - Child Welfare Services/Case Management System - Probation Supervised Foster Care Children by Placement
This monthly report includes data on children in out-of-home placements supervised by probation. The results of this report are drawn from an extract that is created the last day each month from the Child Welfare Services/Case Management System. The report includes information by placement in-county, out-of-county, and out-of-state.

CWS/CMS1c - Child Welfare Services/Case Management System - Children in Foster Care Supervised by Other Agencies by Placement
This monthly report includes data on children in out-of-home placements supervised by an Out-of-State Agency, Private Adoption Agency, State Adoptions District Office, or Indian Child Welfare. The results of this report are drawn from an extract that is created the last day each month from the Child Welfare Services/Case Management System. The report includes information by placement in-county, out-of-county, and out-of-state.

CWS/CMS2 - Child Welfare Services/Case Management System - Characteristics of Children in Out-of-Home Care
This monthly report provides information on children in out-of-home care statewide and for each county. It shows the characteristics of the children, including age, gender, ethnicity, type of placement home, funding source, agency responsible, number of cases that were terminated and reason for termination. The data for the report are drawn from an extract that is created on the last day of each month from the Child Welfare Services/Case Management System (CWS/CMS).

CWS/CMS3 - Termination of Out-of-Home Care Placements for Child Welfare Supervised Children
These reports provide information about children who exited out-of-home placements. The reports include the characteristics of the children who exited foster care, reasons for exiting care, time in last placement setting and county specific data.

CWS/CMS4 - Characteristics of Children Referred for Emergency Response Services
These reports provide information about children who were referred to Child Welfare Services (CWS) because they were identified as a victim in a child abuse referral. The reports include characteristics of the children referred, referral outcomes, allegations of abuse types and response times.

CWS/CMS5 - Child Welfare Services: Service Component Caseload by County
This report provides county specific service component caseload data for children receiving Child Welfare Services (CWS) in California. The data for the report was drawn from an extract created on the last day of the report month from the Child Welfare Services/Case Management System (CWS/CMS).

FC 19 - Intensive Treatment Foster Care Program Quarterly Statistical Report
This quarterly report includes data, by age group, on the number of children placed in the Intensive Treatment Foster Care Program during the quarter, and the outcomes of the children referred to the program. It also includes data on the type and number by type of services provided to the children and families.

FC 23 - Probation Foster Care Placement Monthly Caseload Statistical Report
The monthly FC 23 report includes information on probation foster youth placements, contacts, visits, development of health and education passport information, and receipt of health and mental health services.

SOC 291 - Preplacement Preventive Services
This annual data summary includes data on emergency response dispositions, reasons for emergency responses, and family maintenance activities. This summary includes county and statewide totals.

SOC 405 A - Independent Living Program (ILP) Annual Statistical Report
This annual report includes data regarding youths, ages 16 through 20, who receive services from the Independent Living Foster Care Program. It identifies the number of youths receiving ILP services, the program outcomes for those youths, and certain client characteristics.
