Introduction

The Center for Rural Education (Center), located in the OVAE, is designed to disseminate information regarding research and practice to stakeholders on a wide range of topics of particular importance to schools and communities in rural America and to bring renewed attention to the problems and issues of students in rural schools.

The Center will take a leadership role in advancing the cause of rural education and will serve as a resource to local, tribal, state and national entities to further educational achievement in rural communities.

Research

Data on Rural Schools
Includes enrollments, assessments, student progress, teacher credentials, salaries, teacher attrition, school environment, community support, parental involvement, and more.

Resources (NCES)
Includes the "Rural Education Directory," national organizations, Regional Educational Laboratories, clearinghouse information, and more

The Center for Rural Education Listserv is a free service offered by the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE). Subscribers interested in the Center for Rural Education listserv will receive timely information of particular importance to schools and communities in rural America. The Center serves as a resource to local, tribal, state, and national entities to further educational achievement in rural communities.
