Subject: Affirmative Employment Program (AEP) Plan for Women and Minorities
This directive forwards the attached letter in which the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) indicates it will soon require all agencies to develop and submit a new AEP Multi-Year Plan. In anticipation of EEOC's management bulletin mandating a new plan, DOI Bureaus and Offices should closeout current Multi-Year plans and prepare new plans for submission to this office no later than March 15, 2002.
The new plan should be in effect for a least a three-year period and must include program analysis, problem and barrier identification, and objectives and action items. Detailed guidance on the development of the Multi-Year Plan is provided in EEOC Management Directive 714. We are hopeful that EEOC will provide us training on the MD 714 in January 2002.
