TITLE: Memorandum of Understanding between Secretary of Transportation and Secretary of Interior
SUBJECT: Integrated transportation planning procedures

PURPOSE OF THE AGREEMENT: Develop and implement integrated transportation planning procedures within the Department of Interior (DOI), National Park Service. This MOU sets forth general terms and conditions for cooperatively developing and integrating transportation planning within the DOI pursuant to an initiative jointly undertaken by the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Transportation in response to the President's April 22, 1996, memorandum to develop a plan for a comprehensive effort to improve public transportation in the National Parks and to fulfill provisions of 23 USC 204(a) and 16 USC 1. This agreement expands on the May 19, 1983, park road and parkway MOA with the National Park Service.
