Hires rate in November 2005

The hires rate was little changed at 3.4 percent in November.

Over the month, the hires rate decreased in manufacturing. The hires rate in manufacturing was 2.3 percent in November, down from 3.1 percent in October. The hires rate did not change significantly in any geographic region.

The hires rate is the number of hires as a percent of total employment. Hires are any additions to the payroll during the month.
